Space Life

It was 2111 and not a lot had changed in humans. Of course there was a TV that you can control with your mind and an IPad that can do chores for you. The best thing was that there was a chip that you could put in someone when they are a baby and have control of their volume so if a kid is having a tantrum the adult or carer just has to get the control and wirelessly connect to the chip to turn the volume down. Unfortunately kids normally steal the control and turn down the adults telling them of.

In New York a rich man called Nick Jones was trying to do something bigger than big, he was going to increase population of the human race by billions. He owned a big company and had half of NASA as he had bought it years ago. He had lots of experience with space and he knew how to fix a rocket ship with his eyes closed.
Nick had no family left except his brother and every time they met his brother he always asked for money or to stay with him. He did have some good friends though and one of them was a man called Arthur Perkins. Nick and Arthur had grown up together because when they were little they lived next to each other and always played space and aliens in the garden.

In primary and secondary school they had been bullied because they were not into football, basketball and sports like that. Also people got jealous because they were the smartest kids in school. When they were in secondary school they often made science projects like models of space ships that were remote controlled and could light up and make noises.

Author was a nice man and very much like Nick except he was not as smart and didn’t have as much money, he was tall skinny and had glasses, he always wore a sweater vest and trousers. They always helped each other when they were sad or hurt so they were very good friends.
It was Friday night and Nick was lying in bed watching the X Factor, a woman was on and she was not very good but when the judges told her she was bad she took a big temper tantrum and had to be taken off by security. Suddenly Nick remembered he had a speech on Saturday and he was talking in front of some very important people. So he practiced until 11 o’clock then fell asleep with his script in his hand. The next morning he heard honking outside and then he heard someone come into his house and come upstairs instantly he knew that it was Arthur because nobody else knew his password to access his house. WAKE UP NICK!!! Yelled Arthur as he went into Nick’s room. Nick was already awake with the car honks so he came out from the bathroom looking half ready but he had his trousers on backwards and his shirt was open. “Oh I was awake hours ago” he said as he went to his closet, Arthur noticed he had toothpaste stains all over his mouth and saw he was wearing clothes the wrong way round. “You’re not fooling anyone” said Arthur with a smile on his face, “Now c’mon I will help”. So they started making Nick look his best. Then they went outside and got into Nicks GTR.

They were driving along the road just coming out of the place that Nick lives when he said “where is it again”, Arthur sighed “Central Park” he said “I hope you remember your lines better than where your speech is” and so they drove on talking about the speech and what people will think.

When they got there a lot of people were sitting and waiting so Nick winked at the presenter and he introduced Nick. “Next up Ladies and gentlemen we have one of the smartest men in New York it’s the one it’s the only… Nick Jones” he said and gave the stage to Nick. Arthur could tell that Nick was nervous but he did not think that anybody else knew. Nick started to talk once everybody had clapped and he said “thank you Gary it’s a pleasure to be here and I’m here today to show you how we can increase our population by billions, it will also help if there is ever big earth quake or a volcano erupts. “I plan to have life on mars” he said with determination, “once it is successful we can try it on other planets but all I need is a group of brave men to come to space with me.
After Nick had told details and about his technology team and stuff like that he bowed and walked off. He went over to a table and a chair and answered all the questions. “You said you needed 4 men correct” said a man with three men behind him. “I am Bruce Stone, pilot of the Century my space shuttle I have not been in it since it was upgraded but I can fly it like a boss”. “Who are your friends” said Nick excitedly. The man looked blank and then said “Oh sorry this is Cody the weapon specialist; he can shoot a target with his eyes closed”. Then he looked at a slightly smaller man and said “this is Hendry he is a medic he can heal injuries from paper cuts to missing arms. Finally he looked at a tall man and said “and last but not least Simon he is the mechanic he can fix anything like a phone tracker device and defiantly a rocket ship” said Bruce. “Ok well come round to my house today at 3 and we can discuss” said Nick as he past him his address.

That day they came to his house and they discussed plans “okay it is Saturday today so next Saturday we will board and launch” said Nick so they went to the ship and checked it out.

It was beautiful, pure black and it had white lines across it, they went inside and it was amazing it had sandwiches, toasties, wraps and toast. It had amazing meals, a hot tub double beds and even a sky TV. A week later it was 2 hours till lift of and everybody was in there space suits loading supplies and equipment onto the ship. “Everybody into the space ship” said Captain Jones AKA Nick Jones as he closed the door, “turn on the lights Cody” said commander Stone AKA Bruce Stone. They set everything right and got into their seats except Simon he was in bed as co-pilot. “Initiate count down sequence” said Captain Jones to Arthur by radio and he heard engines start 5…4…3…2…1…Lift off!!!

The shuttle soared into the sky with fire coming from the boosters and in about 5 minutes the rocket had slowed down and was rotating. Hendry looked out the window and gasped the others had been in space before but not him. Right let’s get straight to work men go do your thing and fill up with food it will be a couple more hours before we reach Mars. So everyone went and watched TV ate or played cards.

About half way there commander Stone got tired and swapped with Cody; he had some food and got to sleep. But then they swapped again because Cody wanted to see the football match.

Finally they got to mars and made a swift landing. “C’mon people time to get to work” said Nick so they all went out with some supplies except commander Stone who radioed Arthur saying about their landing. They grabbed their stuff and got out of the shuttle, but put on their jetpacks because they did not want to waste time and it was quicker. “Let’s get started so” said Captain Jones. So they started with the base, then the walls and finished with the roof.

When the outside was finished they moved in all the beds, chairs and cupboards, they all had to be very heavy so they did not float but fortunately they had a tool that moved them with magnets. I did not take too long because it was not a very big base but it was enough and if it succeeded then they could built bigger buildings.
After they had finished they were very tired so they all went to their bunk beds and slept. Bang Bang!!! Someone was at the door and was trying to get in. “It’s an alien!!” screamed Henry as he hid under the bed. Commander Stone woke up and said “where is Simon”. Now all four men were screaming their heads off at this banging.
Once they had stopped they heard Simons voice. “LET ME IN YOU FOOLS!!” Simon shouted and then they realized that the banging on the door was just Simon. Cody went to the door and opened it, an angry man came in and scowled he was soaked in some type of liquid, it was Simon.

When Simon had had a shower and put his space suit in the washing machine he told them his story. “I went out to the shuttle to get my iPad and I slipped on some type of liquid that smelled like sick”, Cody looked guilty “I didn’t feel well” he said. Simon gagged and carried on with his story “and when I got out I went to the door but it was shut”, Hendry looked guilty and he said “I closed the door so no Aliens could come in”. Simon glared at him and then told them about how he was banging on the door for about half an hour.

The next day they were speaking to mission control when they were sent a space package, a space package is a missile that is not as fast and not explosive it can carry a lot of items depending on how big it is. So they had been sent a space package with more building equipment, there was a message that said… “We are sending animals and more people up so start building and we will have more people in about 7 hours”…Arthur. Captain Jones showed the rest the letter and they started building. More and more people came and one day another smart man and his team invented an oxygen shield which went over the planet Mars and gave them air.

Over the years the humans made life on lots of different planets and even discovered new planets. The whole Human Race thanked Nick and his team for what they did and they all went down in history.
