As a follow up to our cooking bus work we visited Tesco in Dingwall to learn more about our food and where it is sourced.

Time to shower & brush teeth

We turned the “wee hoosie” into a washroom.

We made up camp beds

We sang songs around the campfire

Story time in the tent

We made our own tents and used photos of ourselves in sleeping bags to go inside.

We made campfire caps with edible accessories

We learned how to keep safe cooking outside and toasted marshmallows

We went on a trail and made trail mix for snack – yum yum

P3/4 have been busy with language work on the Smartboard; Maths Games; Watercolour paintings of Scottish landscapes for their topic and giving talks on deer as part of their topic.

What a fantastic week we have had at Culbokie Primary. On Monday morning the children were surprised to see a huge big silver lorry in the school grounds, The “Healthier Scotland Cooking Bus” had arrived.

The children, staff and community have all had a very enjoyable time on the bus. Learning new cooking skills, facts about food, good hygiene in the kitchen and safety rules. The staff on the Cooking Bus were wonderful and super at sharing their knowledge over and over again. Every class that went onto the bus prepared and made a wonderful healthy meal that they all really enjoyed.

A huge Thank You to all the parent helpers that came along to each session. It was great to have you as part of the team. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did.
